As an avid blackfishing angler, I was very unhappy with the quality of jigs found in local tackle shops. Starting in 2019, I started making my own just so I wouldn’t buy the garbage that was being sold in shops. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a business as other anglers started to see the quality of my jigs and the fish they were producing.
Fast forward to March of 2022, I know have custom molds, hand forged and patent pending (and guaranteed) hooks, and a combination of paints and powder coating that give my jigs a lifelike look! We “match the hatch” by either matching the structure or diet of the blackfish.
Can anyone make blackfish jigs? Sure. Can anyone order cheap hooks overseas and produce thousands for next to nothing? Of course. Will those jigs work? Maybe.
